DORSET captain Chris Park is hoping his side can pick up from where they left off, as they take on Cornwall at North Perrott in the MCCA Knockout Trophy tomorrow (11am).

Cornwall are the only side above the Park’s troops in Group One after Dorset won by seven wickets against Berkshire thanks in part to a Lewis McManus century.

However, despite the good start to their season, the skipper feels Cornwall will be the team to beat.

He told Echosport: “We’re not favourites. We’re hopeful there are no injuries before the game and we can do what we need to do to get the win.”

McManus returns for the hosts after his match-winning knock last month and the side have also been boosted by the news that their other professional, Max Waller, has recovered from food poisoning.

“We’ve been given the thumbs up that he (Waller) is fully fit. That’s a bonus,” Park said.

“We’re looking forward to getting the team playing the same sort of cricket we played at Berkshire and, for most of us, this is our first time playing at North Perrott so we are looking to get some support from the locals.”

Josh Digby comes into the Dorset side for his senior debut in place of Michael Porter, who has university commitments.

Commenting on Digby, Park added: “He’s a solid cricketer who has all the strings to his bow.”
