WEYMOUTH captain Simon Browne wants his side to finally get the “monkey off their back” and win at home when they take on Hamworthy Recreation at Redlands tomorrow (1.30pm).

The last time the seaside outfit won there was back in August 2014, a winless spell that stretches back just shy of two years.

It is something that is weighing heavily on Browne’s mind and he wants his side to banish the demons sooner rather than later.

He told Echosport: “It would be nice to win a blinking game at Redlands. It’s such a long time since we won there, so we’re going to try and get that monkey off our backs.”

Browne is also looking to change how his side play, as he looks for the right formula.

“We may make a few changes to the bowling and batting line-up because it didn’t work out for us (last week),” he explained.

“But if we bat well, bowl well and field well then we will win.”

Weymouth will make three changes to the side that lost by 60 runs to Cerne Valley last Saturday.

Dave Blackman comes in for Dean Janaway, Tom England is back in place of Paul Webb and Dom Webb is replaced by Michael Pearce.

Weymouth: Quayle, Womble, Blackman, Browne, Payne, England, Pearce, Mitchell, James, Gordon, Puckett.
