SKIPPER Simon Mitchem is hoping Dorchester can get another victory on the board tomorrow before the club’s annual cricket week kicks off.

The county town side host Stalbridge at the Rec in Dorset Funeral Plan Premier Division action (11am) before a heap of fixtures at their headquarters next week.

“Stalbridge are a decent side who can trouble most teams on their day, so it will be a good test for us,” Mitchem said.

“It’s the final few games and we want to make sure we win them all and finish as high as we can.

“Following the win last weekend it would be nice to get another on the board and we can then go into cricket week on the back of another win to create a positive feeling.”

Spinner Jack Walklett and wicketkeeper Nick Roe are both set to return to first team duties for Dorchester tomorrow.

n Following their weekend fixtures, Dorchester will take on a Robincroft XI on Tuesday before facing a Dorset League Representative XI, sponsored by the Drawing Office, the following day (both 11am).

On Thursday, the county town outfit host a Dorset XI (11am) before the Dave Willey memorial game between themselves and Abbotsbury on Friday evening (5.30pm).

“It’s good fun and it’s a chance to play different formats like all day games, which is always good,” Mitchem added.

“It’s a good chance for people to come down, watch and enjoy themselves in the holidays.”
