WEYMOUTH captain Simon Browne feels the club has an uncertain future in front of them if they cannot get a team together on the pitch.

Las week, the seaside club had to scratch their game against Hamworthy Recreation, as they could only muster eight players for the trip, meaning they were docked 20 points by the league.

Tomorrow they take on Christchurch at Redlands (1.30pm) knowing they need four points or more to secure their place in County Division One next season.

However, Browne is still feeling the pain from last week’s cancellation and feels the club has a lot of work to do over the winter break.

Speaking to Echosport, he said: “It was very disappointing, it wasn’t great having to ring up their captain and tell them we couldn’t get a side together.

“It’s frustrating and I’ve said to the chairman that we need to sit down and have a chat to decide where to go from here.

“This is not something that I want to do next season, racing around trying to get players together. It shouldn’t be like that.”

Weymouth do have 11 players for their final game of the season and the captain is hoping they can finish on a high.
