DORCHESTER Cricket club have announced a three-strong management team to lead them into the 2017 season.
The Premier League club announced that last year’s captain Simon Mitchem will this year be assisted by Dan Belt and James Dunham.
It was one of many leadership announcements made at their AGM, held at Weymouth Avenue.
In addition Bharat Popli has been confirmed as the club’s overseas player who will be batting in the top order as well as bowling leg spin.
Elsewhere, Mike Peak will continue as second XI captain, and will be assisted by Pete Diffey as vice-captain.
The Sunday XI will be captained by Eiron Fitzgerald and the evening league side will be run by Josh Foot.
Sean Fitzgerald was also confirmed as level three head coach who will oversee all youth and senior training.
The club will be also be running eight junior sides this year including two new teams, a girls’ team run by Jo Haysom and a five to eight years group.
Club sessions run every Sunday from 4pm to 6pm at Thomas Hardye School where players new and old are welcome.
The club are hosting a quiz at their clubhouse night this Friday, which is open to everyone with all profits going towards equipment for the new youth sides.
