MARTINSTOWN skipper Ed Nichols will have to use the depth of the club’s bowling resources tomorrow, when his side make the trip to Shroton in the Dorset Funeral Plan Premier League (1pm).

The Villagers, who sealed a huge win over rivals Dorchester last weekend, will be without three of their frontline options in Chris Read, Matt Camp and Ryan Chase.

Batsman Ben Doidge, who made his debut for the club’s Saturday team last time out, will also miss out.

Speaking about the unavailability of his three bowlers, Nichols told Echosport: “That’s obviously 30 overs (of bowling) gone but we will put something together, we will be alright.

“Mike Kennedy-Barnard is back and he will probably take the new ball.”

On the game itself, he added: “Obviously we will look to build from last week.

“We had a good result against them (Shroton) earlier in the season and we will look to repeat that again.

“Hopefully we can start looking up the table rather than down.

“I would certainly rather be where we are now as to where we were a week ago, with the momentum side of things. People will have a bit more confidence.”
