WEYMOUTH Cricket Club are set to return to action when they begin indoor training in late January.

The Seasiders, who are actively searching for new players to join up, start at Redlands on Sunday, January 28 from 4.30 to 6pm as they begin their preparations for their first game at Kingston Lacy on May 5.

Any interested players are encouraged to attend the weekly sessions.

Elsewhere, Portland Red Triangle are combining both adult and youth training in their pre-season campaign, which has already begun.

The County Division Two champions are laying on training at the Atlantic Academy every Friday from 5.45pm to 7.20pm.

Like Weymouth, they are receptive to new players joining ahead of their first game in County Division One against Broadstone Seconds.

Meanwhile, Martinstown begin their pre-season training on Friday, February 23 at Thomas Hardye School.

Sessions will run from 7.30pm as the Lower Ashton Farm side gear up for their first Dorset Premier League game at home to 2017 runners-up Swanage.

The senior side will begin directly after an academy session featuring 12 of Martinstown’s best young players who have trained over the winter.

Dorchester will return to nets on Friday February 2 at Thomas Hardye School for three weeks before a month break when they will have another three weeks from Friday March 16 ahead of their opening-day clash at home against Stalbridge.
