MARTINSTOWN captain Ed Nichols is looking for his side to bounce back from defeat on Saturday, when they host Stalbridge tomorrow in the Dorset Funeral Plan Premier Division (1pm).

Martinstown lost away at Sherborne by 103 runs last Saturday but Nichols says his side are not too worried.

He said: “They are definitely a good side, it will be a challenge but I think we are confident as well, obviously we are looking to bounce back with a win this week.

“We are back at home, we have played one, won one so I do not think we are too worried off the back of last week’s game.”

Stalbridge have had contrasting results so far this season, as a dismal defeat at Dorchester on the opening day saw them bowled out for 47 before the county town side swiftly put them to the sword at the crease, however, they recovered the week after by beating Bere Regis by 46 runs.

Nichols said: “It should be another good game, they had quite a good result last week. they did not put many on the board but they bowled Bere Regis out cheaply so they will probably be slightly more confident than they were the week before. They have got a number of experienced bowlers who have troubled us in the past. They have got a good opening batsman in Stuart Sweatman who has scored a lot of runs against us before.”

Sam Kershaw and Chris Read return for Martinstown.
