WEYMOUTH captain Harry Mitchell has called for the Seasiders to “go for the kill” when Blandford visit Redlands in their County Division Two clash tomorrow (1.30pm).

Mitchell’s men have picked up three victories from five games, but have lost tight encounters at Cranborne and Witchampton, causing the Weymouth skipper to target a more clinical attitude from his charges.

He told Echosport: “We need to be a bit more ruthless. When we’ve won, we’ve got 20 points but we need to start beating teams higher up, get on top and go for the kill.

“When we’ve been winning there’s been no let up. It’s where we’ve not been on top where we need to win the game ourselves instead of waiting for it to happen – and be more aggressive.”

“We’ve been really strong at home. Everyone’s played to their natural game and everyone knows how to play at Redlands. We’re going to be hard to beat.”

Weymouth welcome back Tommy England, Neil Walton, Jack Sapsworth and include Portland United defender Lee Sharpe, but Graham Puckett (broken finger) and John Wilson (unavailable) miss out.

Matt Batchelor and Will Channon are in contention for a first-team place.

On England’s return, Mitchell said: “He’s another one to go with Browner in that bracket of experienced players, he’s Premier League quality.”
