BERE Regis captain Rich Cole is keen to build on last week’s 21-run victory over Shroton when hosting high-flying Wimborne & Colehill in Dorset Funeral Plan Premier League action at Bere Regis Rec tomorrow (1pm).

Wimborne & Colehill currently lie second in the table, having won four of five games, while Bere lie seventh with two wins.

Speaking to Echosport, Cole was intent on putting every effort into the clash after targeting home successes prior to the season starting.

He said: “I’d love to be able to. We’re not going to play just for points.

“We want to give our all for every game, especially at home.

“We’ve seen the success from last week and we want to build upon it. It’s a team we haven’t played for a long time.

“We’re aware they’re a strong team. It’s a bit of an unknown but we will bring the game to them.

“If they start thinking it’s a win in the bag straight away we’ll hopefully give them a surprise and let them know they’ve got a game on their hands – we’re not planning to bow down.”

This week, Bere welcome bowlers Brad Moss and Rich Payne to the matchday squad, with Pete Macklin and Tom Bennett missing out, while Tim Goodhew remains absent.

Cole said: “Last week we just managed to do it with five bowlers. This week, we’ve got Bradley with his spin and Rich gives us another option. It’s certainly strengthened our bowling.”
