DORSET’S final Minor Counties Championship match of the season was abandoned as a draw yesterday.
There was no play on the third day against Cornwall at Dean Park due to inclement weather.
The match had been finely balanced with Cornwall (136 and 147-4) chasing 257 to win after the hosts had compiled innings of 202 and 190.
Highlight of the match was Dorset skipper Tom Hicks’ five wickets in the first innings to achieve 200 championship wickets playing for the county.
