THE rain thwarted Weymouth and Dorchester’s attempts to end the Dorset Premier League season on a high.
The Seasiders managed just 14 overs of their final-day clash with Stalbridge while the county town outfit failed to contest a single ball as their match against title-chasing Parley was a non-starter.
Parley, champions in 2009 and 2010, will arguably be the more frustrated of the two sides as they were powerless to prevent Poole Town wresting the league title from their grasp.
Dorchester finish the campaign in third spot, for the second successive year, while Weymouth end the season third from bottom.
