WEYMOUTH will be out to make amends tomorrow when they lock horns with Broadstone at Redlands (1.30pm).

When the two Dorset Premier League outfits met at the Delph earlier in the season the Seasiders were on the wrong end of a six-wicket defeat, but Dave Trotter believes more depth in his side’s bowling attack this time around will hold them in better stead.

He told Echosport: “We could have done far better at Broadstone. What let us down was that we got the runs on the board but our bowling on the day wasn’t great.

“The fact we have both Laurie ‘Cube’ Whyte and Dan Hutchens in the line-up this week is fantastic, as they have both been performing brilliantly, and as long as Matt Lawes and I can continue being consistent at the top of the attack we will always be in with a shout.

“Broadstone have some good players, there is no doubt about that, but if we can build pressure and perform like we did at Stalbridge last time out then we will stand a great chance.”

The Seasiders chased down 231 at Stalbridge to record their third win in four games and Trotter is desperate for the momentum to continue.

He added: “We have been a real team this season with everyone encouraging and supporting each other.

“If anyone makes a mistake, which happens, everyone else is rallying around that person in order to pick them up again and if we continue that spirit I am sure the results will follow.

“If we could put a little run of results together then you never know where we could end up but it’s important to remain realistic and just look at each game as it comes. Everything else then just takes care of itself.”
