DORCHESTER will be looking to get their Dorset Funeral Plan Premier League assault off to a winning start when they entertain Blandford at the Rec tomorrow (1.30pm).
Martyn Richards' side won last year's Division One title at a canter and have set their sights on raising a few eyebrows in 2008 where they will compete in the top tier of Dorset cricket for the first time in four years.
The county town outfit take on a Blandford side who finished fifth last season. Richards is wary of his opponents but confident in the ability of his men.
He said: "We've strengthened a lot and the players we've brought in are all as good, if not better than what we already have.
"Blandford finished mid-table last year so this is a game we are targeting to win. We're hoping the weather holds out and hoping to get the campaign off to a good start.
"There are no easy games in this league, fifth from Blandford is a good finish given that the top four were in a league of their own.

"If we turn up and apply ourselves accordingly then I'm sure we can get off to a good start."
With the additions of Dan Belt, Lee Haynes, Shannon Dunnett, Paul Tweddle and Adam Iyer to the Dorchester squad, Richards admits he had a selection headache ahead of tomorrow's clash.
He added: "We've got a full-strength squad to choose from but Steve Gerety is an injury doubt because he's been nursing a sprained ankle.
"The selection is strong and it was very tough picking a squad but there are plenty of hopefuls in the second team looking for a place in the first team. It's hard on individuals but good for the club."
