BRIDPORT head to Hamworthy Recreation in Dorset Funeral Plan Division Two tomorrow (2pm) seeking a morale-boosting win to end a run of three games without a victory.
In the reverse fixture to the season's curtain-raiser, skipper Chris Backhouse's side know they must gain a considerable points haul to make up for lost ground.
Following last weekend's defeat at Wimborne & Colehill Seconds, Bridport slipped from second place, which they have occupied for the last month, to fifth with tomorrow's opponents one of the teams overtaking them along with Branksome and Dorchester Seconds.
Two defeats sandwiched by the washout against Shaftesbury was not envisaged after the stunning triumph over pacesetters Ferndown but, weather permitting, the Brewery Ground outfit can restore their promotion aspirations with a triumph over fellow candidates Hamworthy.
Backhouse said: "We've got the players to get a win it's just a case of applying ourselves.
"Losing the Shaftesbury game to the weather was a massive loss and it seems like we've been away a lot recently, so I think that's been a factor in our results.

"Hamworthy are one of our closest rivals so to turn them over would help our league position a lot and affect theirs, so it's a big game."
Backhouse expects to name an unchanged side although keeper/batsman Freddie Everitt may return following unavailability to reprise his position behind the stumps.
Bridport are most in need of a win out of the top five, so avoiding a repeat of the opening day's events is paramount.
Hamworthy amassed 241 at the Brewery Ground in early May and despite a concerted effort in reply, Backhouse's troops fell 21 runs short of the challenging target when their allotted overs expired.
