BRIDPORT could have two new faces on show tomorrow as they pay a visit to Buckland Athletic (3pm).
Sherborne Town striker Dean Ritchie and former Sherb defender Ben Cochrane are on the verge of joining the Bees ahead of their trip to Devon.
Boss Trevor Senior announ-ced: “We are hoping to have two new signings cleared in time for tomorrow.
“Dean Ritchie is a centre-forward from Sherborne and Ben Cochrane is a defender who used to play at Sherborne but has recently been playing locally in the Yeovil area.
“Dean almost came in the summer but hopefully we will get him sorted for the weekend.”
Tomorrow’s opponents may sit third from bottom in the Toolstation Western Premier Division but Senior refuses to be fooled by their lowly status, especially as they have only contested half as many games as the Bees.
The Bridport chief added: “They have had some good cup runs this season and I believe they are still in the FA Vase.
“We went there in the FA Cup earlier in the season and lost 2-1 so we know what they are like. They have a nice set-up and a nice pitch.
“They are also a decent side and I said at the time that I would be surprised if many teams go there and get anything.
“We have just got to match them and play like we have been playing of late. If we do that then hopefully we will get something.”
But the Bees will be without the services of Chris Clarke (blood clot), Jamie Filkins (unavailable) and Matt Condliffe (suspended).
Senior said: “Unfortunately we have some key players missing tomorrow.
“Chris Clarke took a knock on a dead leg last weekend and ended up in A&E on Sunday. He’s got a blood clot and has been told to rest for a month.
“Jamie Filkins played his first full 90 minutes for us last Saturday and did very well but he is best man at a wedding tomorrow so he is also missing.
“I will try Max Buckler at sweeper tomorrow and put Shane Evans and Jamie Morgan at wing-back.”
