MATT Groves reckons it was only a matter of time before the Terras hit their stride this season.

After a slow start to the season – Weymouth won one of their first 10 games in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division – the team is on a five-match winning streak and in touching distance of the play-offs.

A sixth victory on the trot is theirs for the taking against St Neots Town today (3pm) and Groves says the confidence is there to make it happen.

“Everybody is very happy and the lads are playing with freedom and confidence,” said the striker. “Everyone knows their job.

“If you look at the team at the end of last season and compare it to now there have been a lot of changes.

“It was never going to click straight away – it was always going to take time.

“But the guys have got to know each other, on and off the field, and in the last couple of months we’ve come together and shown our ability.”
