Helpers hailed as Terras earn Team of the Month Award
WEYMOUTH boss Brendon King has dedicated the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division Team of the Month Award for December to all the volunteers at the club.
The Terras won six out of six in the final month of 2012 but it is not just the players that deserve all the praise.
King, whose saw his side’s trip to Hemel Hempstead Town postponed on Saturday, told Echosport: “To be honest I didn’t know they even did a Team of the Month Award so this has come as a pleasant surprise and it is thoroughly deserved.
“It’s also a nice little reward for everyone connected with the club especially after a tough few years.”
He went on to add: “The fact we won all six of our games in December was a tremendous effort and the players were fantastic.
“But this award is not just for them, it is also for all the volunteers that do such a fantastic job throughout the club, whether it be working on the pitch or helping out on matchdays.
“Those people don’t always get the credit they deserve so this award is just as much for them because everything we do here is a collective effort.”
As well as a trophy, the Terras will also receive £100 worth of Pro-Star vouchers.
Club chairman Nigel Biddlecombe added: “This award is decided by reference to the points per game won by teams in the month concerned, and reflects the superb efforts of the management and players in winning all six of the games played during December.”
The Terras are next in action on Wednesday when they are set to take on Exmouth in a friendly at the Bob Lucas Stadium (7.45pm). Their next league game will see them travel to Gosport Borough on Saturday.
