WEYMOUTH 2 (Ford 6, 20)

BEDWORTH UNITED 1 (Piggon 49)

TWO first-half goals from Mark Ford saw Weymouth pick up their first win of the year at the Bob Lucas Stadium this afternoon.

The talented hitman, in his first game back since suffering a broken hand, put the Terras ahead on six minutes with a low drive and then doubled the advantage moments later with a fine volley from Dan Smith's searching cross.

The hosts were so dominant in the first period they should have perhaps finished the job off, but just after the break Bedworth pulled one back through Mitchell Piggon despite a huge call for offside.

The away outfit then went on to put Weymouth under quite a bit of pressure but in the end Brendon King's men managed to hold on.
