Weymouth chairman hails fans

GRATITUDE: Nigel Biddlecombe GRATITUDE: Nigel Biddlecombe

NIGEL Biddlecombe has hailed the “terrific support” the Terras are continuing to receive from their loyal supporters.

The Weymouth chairman once again expressed his gratitude following a donation from a group of fans to cover the club’s entry fees into two of next season’s cup competitions.

The group is eloquently known as ‘The Old Gits’ and their kind support alongside the ongoing work of the Weymouth FC Supporters Association and the Wessex Fantasy Football is proving vital in such a tough economic climate.

A statement released by Biddlecombe reads: “Weymouth Football Club are grateful to the group of supporters known as ‘The Old Gits’, who have donated a sum of money to pay the club’s fees for entering next season’s FA Cup and FA Trophy competitions.

“The Old Gits have set up a fund into which they pay £1 for every point gained and £1 for every league goal scored by Weymouth FC, and the monies paid for these entry fees is their opening donation to the club.

“Once again this shows the terrific support we are privileged to have at our club.”
