DPL PREVIEWS: Weymouth boss Richmond in Blandford bid
JAKE Richmond is hoping it will be third time lucky tomorrow when his side travel to Blandford United (3pm).
The last two times the Weymouth reserve-team boss has made the trip to the Royals he has been on the wrong end of a defeat – a record he is clearly keen to end.
Richmond told Echosport: “This will be our third away game on the spin and it is going to be another tough one.
“We lost 3-2 there in my first year with the club and then 5-0 last season after what was a very disappointing performance.
“It’s an awkward pitch, which they play very well, so defensively we are going to have to be right on it again.
“As long as we get the basics right like we did at Tintinhull last weekend and track our runners, we will stand every chance of coming away with something.”
Sam Frost is expected to miss out for the Terras this weekend but Luke Chatterton could return. Carl McClements remains sidelined with a wrist injury.
Portland United face a home clash against Hamworthy United Reserves (3pm), while Bridport Reserves entertain Tintinhull (3pm).
Bees’ chief Robin Townsend will be after a much-improved performance at St Mary’s Field following three straight defeats.
“We should be beating sides like Cranborne, Blandford and Sherborne,” he said. “Why confidence levels are low at the moment I’m not really sure.
“Tintinhull are going to be tough so we’ve got to make sure we go there prepared.”
