THE Weymouth Sunday League title is Bar 314’s again after Phil Groves’ men secured the three points they needed over Lazy Lizard.

A 4-2 win gave the reigning champions an unassailable lead in the race for top spot with four games to spare.

They will now look to match last season’s achievements of a league, cup and sixes treble.

Bar 314 took the lead at Red-lands courtesy of a Louis Smith own goal, which was then followed by a poacher’s effort from Carl McClements.

The Lizard halved the deficit before the break but Grant Chance and Marco Nott put the result beyond doubt in the second half.

The home side netted a consolation to make it 4-2, however, the match, and the title, had already been sealed by that point.

Bar 314 moved a massive 17 points clear of second-placed Aura after they could only draw 1-1 at one-from-bottom Market House.

Britannia, in third, also fell further behind the champions thanks to a 3-1 home defeat by the Famous Old Spa.

Dolphin closed the gap on Aura and Britannia with a 2-1 success away to Broadmayne.

A Charlie May brace secured all three points for the visitors to give them their third straight triumph and make them strong contenders for second place behind Bar 314.

Sailors Return made it back-to-back wins and successive clean sheets with a 2-0 victory over Alexandra at Redlands.

The home side were always in the ascendency and took the lead midway through the first half when Brendan Black latched on to Liam Puckett’s pass to volley in.

Puckett should have doubled the lead after being played in by Davey Sowerby, but the former failed to get the ball out of his feet.

Alexandra spurned three decent chances early in the second half, and Sailors eventually managed to put the game to bed when the hard-working Sowerby picked out Black at the back post to plant a bullet header past the despairing keeper.

An incredible 13 goals were scored in the match at Budmouth between hosts Moby Dick’s and Bakers Arms.

Unfortunately for the visitors, they were on the receiving end of a 9-4 hammering and remain at the foot of the table.
