JASON Matthews labelled Weymouth’s 2-1 loss against Truro City as “disappointing” as hosts Truro toppled the Terras at Treyew Road.

Stewart Yetton’s eighth minute goal put Matthews’ side ahead, but the home side turned things around before half-time and Weymouth’s misery was added to when Jake Green was given his marching orders late on.

“I won’t fault the commitment but I was disappointed with the way the lads played, we weren’t at it, too many were off their game and you can’t do that.

“We played football that wasn’t really our game, they forced us into mistakes and we got caught on the ball for the second goal.

On hosts Truro, he added: “It was probably a cup final for them, we huffed and puffed in the second half but we couldn’t break them down.

“We need to go to these away games, play on these bobbly pitches and not get caught on the ball. Sometimes it’s not pretty but you have to do the right things.

“I know that the lads are a very honest bunch, they will learn from their mistakes and we probably need to bring a bit more experience in.”
