TERRAS: Krac agrees Weymouth deal
WEYMOUTH have agreed the signing of midfielder Shane Krac from Tiverton Town on a 12-month deal.
The midfielder is Weymouth manager Jason Matthews’ first signing from outside the club this summer and the Terras’ boss expressed his delight in capturing his highly-rated target.
He told Echosport: “I am really pleased to have signed him, I feel he can really offer something that we lacked last season.
“I have watched him in a couple of games and have been really impressed and I’m happy to have got his signature after a couple of other clubs at our level were also looking to sign him. I’d like to think that a little bit of my homework paid off to get him.
“He will give me that little bit of bite in the midfield that we lacked last season and having spoken to him he’s hungry to do well and is coming to Weymouth for the right reasons.
“He played with Steve Colwell before so there is some familiarity there and he has come to the club with a good reputation.”
Krac made 39 appearances in all competitions for Tivvy last term finding the net against Bishops Cleeve and Didcot Town.
He enjoyed a high-flying league campaign in the Southern League South & West Division, as Tiverton narrowly missed out on promotion via the play-offs.
Krac also captained Tivvy in the Red Insure Cup final against St Neots Town.
Both Colwell and Krac were part of the Bodmin Town set-up that scooped the South West Peninsula League Premier Division crown in 2013, with the new Terras’ signing claiming the supporters’ player of the season award.
