BAR 314 exacted revenge on Dolphin with victory over their rivals in the final of the Weymouth Sunday League’s end-of-season six-a-side tournament.
A 2-1 win for Bar 314’s B team over the Dolphin’s B side gave them the trophy following a defeat to the same club in the Len Mahoney Cup a fortnight earlier.
A total of 19 teams took part in the sixes event at Grove Corner with the top two from four groups progressing to the quarter-finals.
Bar 314 B, Dolphin A, Dolphin B and Famous Old Spa B saw off Market House A, Broadmayne, Aura A and Bakers Arms respectively to reach the last four.
And while Bar 314 edged out Dolphin’s A team 4-2 in the semis, there was a titanic struggle between Dolphin B and Famous Old Spa B.
The game finished 2-2 at the end of normal time before Dolphin scored twice in extra-time to make it into the final.
They pushed Bar 314 all the way in the showpiece event but in the end had to settle for the runners’-up spot.
