DORCHESTER Town have added a home clash with Torquay United to their list of pre-season fixtures.

The Magpies will take on the Gulls, relegated from the Football League last season, at the Avenue on Saturday, July 12 (3pm).

The two clubs linked up in February when Ashley Yeoman and Nathan Craig joined Dorchester from Torquay on month-long loan deals.

A week after Chris Hargreaves brings his side to the county town, the Magpies host AFC Bournemouth, another club Dorchester have forged a good relationship with over the years.

Three days later, on July 22, Phil Simkin takes his team to neighbours Bridport, before Yeovil Town visit the Avenue on August 4.

The Magpies current pre-season schedule is as follows: Sat, July 12, Torquay United (home, 3pm); Sat, July 19, AFC Bournemouth (home, 3pm); Tue, July 22, Bridport (away, 7.45pm); Mon, August 4, Yeovil Town (home, 7.30pm).

Off the pitch, there are other club events taking place.

A Sportsman’s Dinner with special guest Kevin Keegan is set for the Trinity Club this Friday (7.30pm).

The ex-England manager will speak about his time in the game and present awards to the club’s Ability Counts teams.

Comedian Scott Charlton and magician Gary Jones will also be performing and anyone wishing to buy a ticket, priced at £50 (the cost includes a three-course meal), should contact Shaun Hearn on 07976363699.

Then, on July 4-5, the Avenue hosts the Dorchester Town FC Beer Festival, with World Cup matches being shown live on the big screen in the lounge bar.
