WEYMOUTH chief Jason Matthews hailed the all-round performance of Tim Sills as the experienced frontman played a pivotal part in the Terras’ impressive 3-2 win at Chippenham Town.

Having gone a goal behind, the striker notched two headers before half-time to put Matthews’ men back in the box seat, and his manager was ecstatic with how the marksman performed.

“Tim has been brilliant, he is just such an experienced pro,” Matthews said. “He has got himself off the mark now and his link-up play with Yetton and Shephard has been brilliant, and I think those three will hurt a lot of sides this season.”

Speaking about the magnitude of the win, the Terras’ boss added: “I think it’s a fantastic result, it is probably the most happy I have been this season.

“I thought we played very well and the character we showed to come back from one down shows I have a great dressing room.”

Matthews was on a yellow card when he gave away a penalty late on for the Bluebirds to make it 3-2, and he escaped without a second caution.

Giving his view on the incident, he added: “It was very minimal contact and the lad was going away from goal.

“I should have stayed on my feet, I’ll take that on the chin and sometimes you get away with it. Personally I feel I am due a bit of luck and perhaps I had it.”
