MARCUS Simpson found the back of the net twice for the second week running as New Star made short work of Moby Dick’s at Budmouth School.

It wasn’t quite the 10-1 drubbing of Alexandra seven days previously but it was another dominant display from Matt Ramsey’s side.

It took 10 minutes for the visitors to open the scoring when Simon True ended a driving run into the box with an unselfish square ball to Simpson who was left with an easy tap-in.

The rest of the first half was a scrappy affair and New Star’s second didn’t arrive until the 44th minute when new recruit Simpson put enough pressure on a ball over the top to force a defender into an own goal.

The second half remained tight and Stars’ back four of Ramsey, Kieren Cairnduff, Karl Edgar and Stu Beddingfield put in a solid display.

Star scored a third on the hour mark as Chris Squibb provided an inch-perfect cross for Stuart Burley to guide home with his head.

Squibb’s late corner was headed in by substitute Adam Dell and there was still time for Simpson to complete his brace in the last minute.

Weatherbury secured their first win of the season with a thrilling 4-3 victory over Market House.

Chris Shutlar (2), Tom Rice and Paul Talbot got the goals for Weatherbury, who reacted well to their 8-0 defeat by Broadmayne the week before.

Top scorers on match day two were Dorothy and their 10-0 rout of Broadmayne sees them lead the standings on goal difference from New Star.

Alexandra recovered from their battering by New Star to pick up a point against Sailors Return – Reece Clarke netted a brace for Sailors.

A ding-dong affair at Sand-ringham between hosts Bakers Arms and visitors Junction Trojans produced seven goals.

In the end, it was the home side that came out on top 4-3 and getting their goals were Simon Mitchem (2), Luke De La Haye and George Cartwright.

Trev Cottrell, Luke Sparks and Tom Stillman replied for Trojans.
