JASON Matthews and Graham Kemp lock horns for the first time tonight as the Terras take on the Magpies in a Red Insure Cup derby at the Bob Lucas Stadium (7.45pm).

Weymouth boss Matthews and Dorchester chief Kemp will both be going all out for the win but at the same time they are using the first round tie to give chances to players in need of game time.

The two managers are set to make a number of changes from the sides that started last weekend’s FA Cup clashes, with Magpies’ match-winner against Hendon, Andy Robinson, among those being rested.

Nick Crittenden, Jake Smeeton and Chris Dillon also sit out the cup showdown for Kemp’s men, as do George Rigg, Chris Shephard, Tim Sills and Chris McPhee for the home team.

Ed Palmer and Jake Wannell return to the hosts’ starting line-up for the first time following their suspensions, while Ryan Murray, Matt Oldring, Tony Rolls and Shane Murphy get the nod for the visitors.

Jamie Gleeson is back and there is also a debut for new Dorchester striker Jack Odam after his move to the Avenue at the weekend.

“The game will be a good chance for some players to get 90 minutes under their belts in a competitive match,” said Matthews, whose men beat Dorchester in the league in August.

“But we look to win every game we play and that will be no different.

“It’s a local derby and bragging rights are up for grabs.”

Opposite number Kemp said: “It will give some players in the squad a chance to shine and they will go out with a professional attitude.

“Me and Jason get on well and there would be no benefit if one of us plays a full-strength side and the other doesn’t.

“I still expect the side I put out to go for the win and it’s their chance to prove they are good enough to be in my squad.

“It’s a local derby and sets of fans want their team to win, and I expect whatever side I put out to give 100 per cent.”
