POOLE BOROUGH 0 WEYMOUTH RESERVES 1

CONOR Jevon continued to show his credentials for the Terras, as he notched his third goal in two games for Weymouth Reserves to seal a win against Poole Borough.

The only goal at Turlin Moor Rec came after just six minutes when the young striker got in front of his man to slot home a ball from Sammy Nicholls.

The victory has helped the Terras to 32 points from their 17 Dorset Premier League games.

Commenting on the striker, who has been included in a number of first team squads this season, Terras’ boss Jake Rich-mond told Echosport: “He is getting sharper, for the last 20 minutes he was shattered especially because he is up top on his own.

“He has to chase everything and I don’t let him not chase.

“He kept going, he has got a great attitude and he’s a nice lad, his sharpness will come. The quality is there from him and his confidence is there, it’s just getting his sharpness around the box.”

Despite the win, there was a sour note on a disciplinary level yet again this season for the Terras, as winger Jamie Beasley was sent off for a challenge that was deemed reckless 15 minutes from time.

But Richmond disagreed with the match official’s decision, and believed a caution would have been sufficient.

He added: “I think he was a bit unlucky to be honest. It’s annoying because I think we have had four sendings off in the last six games, three were for ridiculous things but that’s the first one for a tackle.

“To my mind it didn’t warrant it.

“It wasn’t even like he has left his foot in late, he has made a genuine challenge for the ball and they have gone nuts.”

Richmond’s men currently occupy fifth spot in the league standings, eight points adrift of leaders Merley Cobham Sports. Terras: Collins, Sharpe, J Will, Butcher, Anstey, G Will, Harvey, Nichols (Czerski 78), Jevon, Beasley, Zima.
