DOROTHY showed league leaders New Star they mean business this season with a 13-0 demolition of Bakers Arms.

And not only do Dorothy continue to find the net at an alarming rate, they are managing to keep up their superb defensive record.

They have conceded just three goals in nine games, recording seven seven clean sheets in the process, though they remain second in the table behind New Star.

Dorothy ran out easy winners against Bakers Arms, taking their goal difference to +76 thanks to a double hat-trick for Danny Andrews.

The scoring began as early as the third minute and it was just a case of how many after that.

Dean Williams got in on the act with a treble of his own, Jeb Gay notched two and both Liam Parsons and Saxon Axe were also on the scoresheet as well.

Keeper Neil Innes was rarely tested in the whole game but did pull off two great saves to keep the visitors out.

At Redlands, New Star showed great character to come from a goal behind against Famous Old Spa and keep their title aspirations on track.

The hosts led at the break and their advantage could have been greater had it not been for New Star stopper Martin Rutland.

An injury to Rob Squibb resulted in Marcus Simpson coming off the bench for New Star on 35 minutes and his introduction gave the visitors the boost they needed.

The table-toppers were level on the hour mark when Antony Carlile converted from the penalty spot after he had been brought down in the box.

And New Star went ahead 20 minutes from time, Carlile delivering an inch-perfect cross for Simpson to side-foot home.

Man of the match Rutland kept his side in front with more fine stops before Karl Edgar capitalised on a goalmouth scramble to secure the three points.

Elsewhere, there was a nine-goal thriller between Broadmayne and Dolphin.

William Turland (2), Alex Burt and Russell Harris scored for Broadmayne, but goals from Sean Gulliver (2), Sheon McBride, Leon Taylor and Sean Zima gave their opponents a 5-4 victory.

A 3-0 win for Market House at home to Sailors Return saw them move out of the bottom three on goal difference at the expense of their opponents.

Moby Dick’s were too good for Junction Trojans, Daniel Shepperd netting three in an 8-2 rout, while Danny Aplin’s strike was all Weatherbury could muster in a 4-1 defeat to The Alex.
