MANAGER Jason Matthews was pleased to secure his side’s fifth league win on the bounce with a 3-2 win over bottom side Banbury United, but admitted it was one of his most frustrating games in the job to date.

“It was an unbelievable day really,” he told Echosport. “I thought we played well in patches but we gave the ball away at some silly times and it cost us both of the goals. That’s frustrating for me, and it’s probably the most frustrated I have been in charge.

“It got to me because I felt we can do better than that, but I suppose looking at it from the other way, I don’t think we’ve hit our straps yet, but we are still winning.

“It just shows as a whole we are moving in the right direction.

“Riggy (George Rigg) has scored with his first touch and Kells (Adam Kelly) did it last week for me, it just proves that we have a squad and we will keep winning.”

Commenting on the latter stages of the event, packed full of a number of incidents, Matthews added: “It was 2-2 and there was a punch-up in the goal which has led to only bookings for both players, which I found astounding.

“Then the ball got kicked out of the ground about five miles and nothing has been picked up there.”
