GRAHAM Kemp says he has no intention of walking away from his job as Dorchester manager.

The county town chief speaking to Echosport ahead of tonight’s trip to Chippenham Town (7.45pm), insisted he was staying put.

“I’m not going anywhere,” he stated. “I will definitely stay until things get sorted, unless the board feels otherwise.

“Avoiding relegation is in our own hands at the moment as we’ve got teams around us to play.

“The time for repercussions will be at the end of the season.”

He added: “I never thought for one second that we would be in this situation when I joined.

“It’s still hard to take in and I wouldn’t have thought that anybody at this club has been in this situation before.”

Dorchester have picked up 15 points out of a possible 54 during Kemp’s time in charge, and that run has seen him come under increasing pressure from Magpies’ fans.

The pressure was ratcheted up another notch following last Saturday’s loss at Chesham, though whatever could have gone wrong for Kemp before the match did.

As well as the Ben Watson deal not going through on time, Dave Allen and Mason Walsh pulled out through illness, Nick Crittenden injured his back on the morning of the match, and Tony Rolls suffered a family bereavement.

Walsh, who has agreed to extend his loan from Bournemouth for another month, Rolls and Watson will be available tonight, while the others remain doubts.

“Stuart Heath and me were sat after training last Thursday content that we had virtually a full fit squad,” said Kemp.

“Then we had phone call after phone call from people who couldn’t play.

“It was embarrassing for a Southern Premier League side to only have one outfield player on the bench who could play.

“The lads did put 100 per cent into the game but three mistakes cost us on the day.”

On the Chippenham clash, he continued: “There is no reason why we can’t get something from it, we just have to cut out the basic errors.”
