DORCHESTER Town slumped to yet another deflating defeat at Chippenham last night, much to the frustration of boss Graham Kemp.

A 2-1 loss, the Magpies’ 10th reverse in 13 league matches, piled even more pressure on the county town club near the foot of the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division table.

“We pretty much dominated the match for long periods,” said Kemp. “But we gave away two poor goals which left us chasing the game.

“We created about 10 chances over the course of the game but Chipp-enham defended for their lives.

“They threw themselves in front of everything and did anything they had to do to win.

“With the team we had out we should be winning those games.

“I think we have been close to getting it right but the results don’t show that.

“The bottom line is we keep giving away goals that we shouldn’t be.

“Again, I can’t fault the effort, commitment and endeavour of the players, but we lack quality in the final third.”

Dorchester now face Banbury at the Avenue this weekend in a must-win clash for Kemp’s men.

On that game, he added: “We’ll have to sit down and regroup, and obviously there are things we can change for Saturday.

“A little bit of luck would be nice too.”

Meanwhile, the Magpies are now free to speak to Tiverton’s Owen Howe after putting in a seven-day approach for the striker last week.
