WEYMOUTH RESERVES 9 STURMINSTER MARSHALL 0

JOSH Tennant and Conor Jevon both bagged hat-tricks as Wey-mouth Reserves ran riot at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

Szymon Matuszewski, Lee Sharpe and Sean Zima also scored in what was the home side’s biggest win of the season so far.

The outcome was pretty much decided inside the first 10 minutes – the Terras netted three times and were “absolutely unplayable” according to boss Jake Rich-mond.

It was 6-0 at half-time and could well have been double figures by the end of the second period if the hosts hadn’t taken their foot off the gas after the break.

“We were outstanding in the first half,” said a delighted Richmond. “We were absolutely unplayable, especially early on when we scored three in nine minutes.

“By the standard we set in the first half, we played poorly for the opening 20 minutes of the second half.

“Sturminster were playing for pride and got in our faces a bit more, but we upped our play in the last 20 minutes and got another three.

“It was one of those days where we were rampant, although we still missed a lot of chances.

“Fair play to them, they kept plugging away on what would have been quite a demoralising afternoon. We did slacken off a touch after half-time but what was good was that we finished strongly, and it was our first game for six weeks.

“And we did what we hadn’t done against Tintinhull which was to make our dominance count.”

Matuszewsk set the ball rolling on four minutes with a stunning effort, Tennant made it 2-0 straight from the restart, and Jevon slotted home after being found by Adam Anstey.

Tennant converted a Zima corner in the 19th minute, Sharpe added a fifth with a close-range header, then Tennant completed his hat-trick.

It took until the 68th minute for Jevon to score the next, he then grabbed his third, before Zima fired in from 12 yards in injury-time.

“Three times now this season we have won a game in the first 45 minutes,” added Richmond.

“The only other times that we have played as well as we did in the first half on Saturday were at Sherborne and against Parley.”
