MANAGER Jason Matthews hailed the heart shown by his Terras’ charges as they returned to the league summit after their triumph over St Neots Town last night.
A Stewart Yetton winner proved enough for Weymouth to record a 1-0 with at the Bob Lucas Stadium, having been toppled in their previous two outings.
Matthews told Echosport: “It was a case of getting a result after two bad ones and we have proven that we are up there to be shot at again. Teams are not going to fancy coming to us when we are on that sort of form.
“The desire we lacked on Saturday the boys showed in abundance and the most pleasing thing for me is that we did the ugly things well.
“St Neots were a little bit long ball for me, and they thought they were probably going to bully us like Paulton and Slough did.
“They have thrown a hell of a lot at us and the boys stood up to it in the first 20 minutes against a strong wind and credit to them.
“At the end of the day, going top of the league in April is important and that’s what matters. Teams are going to take points off each other, there will be highs and lows and it’s important we don’t get too high with the highs and too low with the lows.”
