MAGPIES’ boss Mark Jermyn believes the feel-good factor is returning to the Avenue, with his buoyant squad bidding for a hat-trick of league wins when they travel to Bideford tomorrow (3pm).

The county town supremo has the chance to put Dorchester within three points of the Robins, who currently lie 15th in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division.

Four wins from six games since Jermyn entered the hot-seat has seen the Magpies shoot out of the bottom three, but he believes a huge part of their recent form is down to the input of his playing staff.

“There is definitely a good feel around the club at the moment, especially among the players,” he told Echosport. “Everybody seems to be enjoying it and there is a real togetherness. They are the ones who are looking out for each other, competing, and working hard for each other and I just want them to take as much credit as possible.

"The players will tell you that when they make comments about how we have performed or areas that we need to strengthen in, we have been able to look at that and make the changes with their input.

“We are trying to create that environment, we want our players to be engaged in what we can achieve.”

A key player for the Magpies this weekend could be striker Ben Watson, who plied his trade at Bideford before joining the Magpies.

Jermyn added: “Ben was there earlier in the season so he is going to give us a bit of a low-down. I have already done a bit of homework and seen what their strengths are. They are a couple of places above us, but we will be looking to go there to try to win the game.”

Lewis Morgan’s groin strain could possibly keep him out and keeper Shane Murphy could turn out for New Milton having signed dual-registration forms with the Linnets this week.

The gloveman also declined the chance to join Poole Town, after they put in a seven-day approach for his services.
