BLANDFORD boss Bradley Asagba has played down his side’s chances of overcoming Wareham Rangers at Park Road tomorrow (3pm).

With the Royals buoyed by their 8-0 win over bottom club Sturminster Marshall last week, four-goal hero Mark Ford is a doubt for the encounter, along with Liam Shingler and Henry Akinsuyi.

Despite racking up the goals last time out, Asagba believes the hosts are underdogs for the battle.

He said: “We are well aware this will be a very stern test against an organised and committed Wareham Rangers side.

“In terms of points, they are way ahead of us, they are convincing favourites and we have to show them the respect they deserve and appreciate they will be expecting three points.

“It’s important that we adjust our mindsets accordingly and understand that, as a squad, every single one of us needs to be at 100 per cent in order for us to get something out of the game.

“It looks like we might be missing a few which isn’t ideal, but sometimes it can work for you as the players coming in have a point to prove and provide a freshness that may be lacking.

“That aside, we do carry a bit of momentum so we're confident we can give a good account of ourselves.”
