JASON Matthews is set to return in goal for Weymouth’s crucial encounter at Banbury United tomorrow (3pm).

The player-boss, who was left kicking his heels after picking up a groin injury last month, has declared himself fit to feature against the Puritans, who are scrapping for their lives in 22nd spot in the league.

Speaking about getting back between the sticks, play-off chasing Matthews told Echosport: “I live for my football and I am looking forward to getting back and having an input on the pitch.

“It will be a really tough game at Banbury, everyone has seen that there has been a few twists and turns over Easter as well.

“The pressure is on and we have to make sure we are in those play-offs at the end of the season. Then, anything can happen.

“I will have my lads fired up for the game and I think a lot of them are looking forward to it.

“I think that the minimum we need at Banbury is to come away with at least a point. It’s as simple as that.”

As well as Matthews’ return, the Terras are set to welcome back Chris Shephard to the squad after illness kept him out against Truro City on Monday.

“He has been one of our star performers all season and I need my big players to produce for us now,” the Weymouth player-manager added.
