BOSS Mark Jermyn was delighted to have achieved his Magpies’ mission of saving the club from the drop, and gave credit to his players for turning their fortunes around.
A 1-1 draw with St Neots at the Avenue on Saturday was enough to make the county town club safe and also put the Saints in the play-off places at the expense of Weymouth.
The county town boss told Echosport: “When I started it was a team who were really struggling, not only physically, but mentally in trying to achieve results.
“Since myself and Nick have taken over the mindset is different and the performances have spoken for themselves.
“The players have really turned around the season when it looked like they were facing relegation again, so I am more than happy with what they have achieved.
“We will certainly be looking forward to next season, having said that, we have been more interested in what’s going on in front of us rather than behind us because I felt we had more than enough in the squad to keep us up.”
On their battle with the Saints, Jermyn felt a draw was a fair result.
He added: “They were a big strong physical side and have good technical footballers in there as well.
"We set up with starts for Lewis Horsburgh and Ryan Murray and it was good to get them involved, it was a good all-round performance.”
