THE Weymouth Sunday League celebrated in style with their end-of-season presentation at the Gloucester, with a host of prizes awarded to a range of teams.

League winners King Arms picked up their title after an unbeaten campaign in the division, winning 21 of their 22 league games and drawing the other.

They finished with a positive goal difference of 178 for the season and league top scorer Danny Andrews picked up the golden boot to complete a prize double for the champions.

Sailors Return collected the league’s fair play award while also picking up the Les Hallett Trophy. Famous Old Spa were presented with the Len Mahoney Cup.

Further winners on the night included Gary Brindley (Sailors Return), Liam Sharp (Famous Old Spa), Sheon McBride (Dolphin) and Jeb Gay (Kings Arms), who all won £50 cash in the league’s player raffle.

The Weymouth Sunday Football League AGM will take place at the Redlands Community Sports Hub, upstairs in the Broadwey Suite on Sunday, June 28 (from noon).

Continuing teams are obliged to attend – but prospective sides will be most welcome.
