IT was two points dropped rather than one gained last night as far as Dorchester assistant manager Nick Crittenden was concerned.

The Magpies were held to a 0-0 draw by Frome at the Avenue but had more than their fair share of chances of claiming back-to-back league wins.

Despite not finding the net, the hosts made it successive clean sheets on home turf this season and picked up their seventh point from a possible 12.

Reflecting on the game, Crittenden said: “If one of our early chances had gone it could have been a different story, and you could tell by Frome’s reaction how happy they were with a point.

“It was two points lost rather than one gained for us.

“Coming into it we had scored nine goals in three games yet we probably had more chances in this one that the others put together.

“It’s disappointing but we’re quite happy with where we are at the moment and we’ll pick ourselves up to go again on Saturday.”

Lewis Morgan missed what was arguably Dorchester’s best chance of last night’s match.

Commenting on that, Crittenden added: “Who knew that chance would have been so costly within the first 10 or 15 minutes?

“But that’s the way it is and on another day Lewy would have got three or four goals.”

Meanwhile, Dorchester Town's reserves travel to Ringwood Town tonight (7.45pm) for their opening fixture in the Wyvern Premier Division.
