BRIDPORT go in search of a hat-trick of wins in all competitions when they travel to Cadbury Heath tomorrow (3pm).

Trevor Senior’s troops booked their place in the preliminary round of the FA Cup against Sherborne with a 1-0 win over Alresford Town last time out and return to league action against the Heath, who beat the Bees 4-1 when the sides last clashed at Springfield.

Despite that, manager Senior believes his Bridport squad are a much tougher proposition this time around.

He told Echosport: “We are definitely stronger this year and we will go into the game with confidence, but not over-confident.

“We didn’t play particularly well last week against Alresford but the important thing was to get the win.

“Doing it off the back of a 1-0 win against Buckland was pleasing. Keeping clean sheets is important and it would be good if we could do the same against Cadbury Heath. They always give us a good game at their place.

“If we could pick up three points we could be right in the mix early doors. After three league games you can’t get too excited but it’s better to be at the top end of the league than the bottom.”

Chris Senior, who got around 10 minutes from the bench last weekend, is once again set to be in the visitors’ squad. Alan Hill may feature for the Bees’ reserves.

Boss Senior is also hopeful that winger Jamie Beasley will be fit to return from a hip operation within three to four weeks.
