DORCHESTER Town chief Mark Jermyn revealed that Lewis Morgan will not be a part of the club’s plans for the foreseeable future.

The midfielder, who was suspended for the Magpies’ 1-0 victory at Histon on Saturday, is set for a spell out of the county town side due to work commitments.

But Jermyn did not rule out Morgan making a return towards the back end of the campaign.

Explaining the situation, he told Echosport: “We have lost Lewis Morgan at this point in time because of work commitments.

“He has chosen to focus on work at the moment. He is newly qualified in his job and his girlfriend is pregnant as well.

“It’s a shame because we really want to work with Lewis and I think it’s likewise as well but, at the same time, we do appreciate that these are part-time players.”

He added: “Dependant on how his work commitments are really does depend on whether we will be seeing Lewis at the back end of the season.

“It’s a situation that we are monitoring but that does give us a little bit of leeway to make room for somebody else to come in now and that’s an area we will be looking to address.

“We have a couple of people we are speaking to and we shall see who we bring in next and how we look to fill that role.”

Assessing the weekend’s victory over the Stutes, Jermyn added: “With the conditions as they were, I felt we did very well to get ourselves in front and in the second half we should have really scored a couple more.

“But we were resilient and that’s what I’m pleased about really.

“I don’t overly remember them having a shot on target.”
