WEYMOUTH Reserves have secured promotion to the Wessex League structure for next season.

Bradley Asagba’s Terras, who are set to feature in Sydenhams Wessex Division One next term, finished third in the Dorset Premier League behind Hamworthy Recreation and Shaftesbury Town this season.

Shaftesbury have also been accepted to move up the league pyramid and will join the Terras next season.

Reacting to the news, reserves’ chief Asagba told Echosport: “Everybody in terms of the board and the chairman have gone along with me and done their part.

“They have backed us and I think it’s really good for the club, not just for my players and myself. It just shows again that the club is progressing and trying to make the right moves.

“Our supporters that aren’t travelling with the first team (next season) can now watch us at a higher standard, it’s good news all round for everyone.

“Right now, it’s just a time to focus on getting prepared for the next step and making sure everything is in place in terms of playing personnel.”
