DORCHESTER Sports celebrated their promotion to the Dorset Premier League with their presentation night.

Sports ended third in the Senior League table and were just one victory away from the title after finishing just three points below Chickerell but with a plus four goal difference.

Sports won their last eight games of the season and were unbeaten in their last 11 after defeat to the champions.

Sports’ manager Ashley James said: “It has been a great season for us as a whole club, our finish to the season was of real quality and we have built real momentum ready for next season.

“Last season was not good enough and we had to make changes, and the players we brought in added real quality to our squad.

“The reserves and Sam Turner also deserve a lot of credit, we have used five or six of them in the first team this season and they have stepped up every time which is very pleasing and we are all looking forward to next season already.”

James also paid tribute to Danny Critchell and Turner for their coaching efforts.
