MAGPIES’ boss Mark Jermyn feels the departure of Charlie Davis to Weymouth is not the end of the world, but also admitted the player will be missed for some parts of his game.
The midfielder left the club on Monday and Jermyn is already hunting for his replacement.
Speaking about their relationship, Jermyn told Echosport: “Charlie (Davis) and I had a relationship that was good and bad.
“I never felt we saw the best of him, he had a good season but I don’t think we saw his true potential.”
Jermyn also feels the player will have to work hard to be a regular at the Bob Lucas Stadium.
He added: “He could get swallowed up by the numbers.
“Jase (Jason Matthews, Weymouth manager) has said that he has to prove his worth as does any other player. It will be interesting.
“For some parts of Charlie’s game we will miss him, but for others we won’t.
“We’re working hard to find a replacement.”
