DORCHESTER Town have announced that Richard Robson is to take over the reserve set-up at the Avenue next season.

Robson, who will be assisted by Michael Thompson, comes into the fold at the Avenue, having previously worked with the club’s under-18s and reserves.

A statement on the Dorchester Town website said: “Dorchester Town Football Club is delighted to announce that Richard Robson has been appointed as Dorchester Town FC’s new reserve team manager. He will be ably assisted by Michael Thompson.

“Robson has been involved with the Magpies previously in coaching roles for both the under-18s and the reserves’ team while concurrently reading for a BA Honours Degree in Football Studies at Southampton Solent University.

“Robson then went on to have coaching roles with the Dorset County FA’s under-18 representative team, Kingston Maurward College and the DCFA’s Players Development Centre (PDC). He has recently been coaching at the AFC Bournemouth iD Centre here in Dorchester.

“Thompson played for Yeovil Town in 1980′s as well as the Combined Military Services Team, he went on to have coaching roles at Yeovil Town FC’s academy and Frome Town’s First Team.

“We welcome both Richard and Michael to the Avenue Stadium and wish them well in their new roles.”

Robson replaces Simon Evans, who stood down from the managerial role at the end of last season.
