WEYMOUTH Reserves manager Bradley Asagba believes his side are set to face a “difficult task” as they hit the road for the first time in Sydenhams Wessex League Division One against Alton tomorrow (3pm).

The Terras’ second side, who were thumped 4-1 on the opening day at home against AFC Stoneham, face an Alton outfit who have one just point from their opening two league fixtures.

But Asagba admits his charges will be stepping into the unknown when they head to the Anstey Park Enclosure this weekend.

“It is going to be a difficult one because we don’t know too much about them,” he told Echosport.

“It will be a difficult task but, when the fixtures were announced, we knew we had quite a tough start.

“I try and get as much information and have been trying to watch as many of the teams in the league as I can but, obviously, it is difficult with our own schedule.

“The bottom line is we need to have some kind of reaction from Saturday. That’s the minimum requirement I think.”

He added: “I walked into it (the league) very clear on how tough the challenge was going to be and I didn’t buy into other people making assumptions that, because Portland were very successful in the league last year, we would be the same.

“I think the league now is a completely different beast with the teams that have come up to it and teams coming down.

“The main message going into Saturday is to stick with what we are trying to do, all do our jobs and hopefully, we will be able to get some sort of performance.”

The reserves are set to be without Sean Stewart, Aston Butcher, Jacob Carter and Sanchez Jansz-Baker for the encounter.
