MANAGER Jason Matthews was happy with the way his side reacted after “a few words” in the dressing room at half-time against Leamington.
Having trailed 1-0 at the break, the Terras’ boss urged his side to improve on their passing game.
And he felt his players got their reward for what was a positive second period, as a late penalty from Charlie Davis ensured they came away with a 1-1 draw.
Speaking to Echosport after the contest, the Weymouth chief said: “I felt that Leamington shaded
the first half and we had a few words at half-time with a few of the boys.
“I said we needed to tidy ourselves up a little bit and make our passing a little bit better on what was a lovely surface.
“We set our standards high and we fell below them a little bit in the first half.
“I felt in the second half we came out really sharply and really took the game to Leamington. I think we deserved a point and, credit to the boys, they kept going.
“We wanted to press Leamington and I thought we did that in the second half.”
He added: “Any point away from home is a good point. We need to win our home games now.
“We want to go on a long unbeaten run, we have made an indentation into that and we need to kick on – the big games are coming thick and fast.”
